In a nation that continues to distance itself from the environment and by default its community, it's no wonder our youth are plagued by Attention Deficit Disorder, obesity, and impaired social skills. Research has proven that a disconnect with the natural world attributes to a decrease in academic success and an increase in behavioral disorders. Author Richard Louv writes "The child in nature is an endangered species, and the health of children and the health of the earth are inseparable." The Children's Tree House is dedicated to preserving the child in nature and reversing the phenomenon of nature deficit disorder.
