At W.O.W. (Wild Outdoor Wonders) Summer Camp, we are dedicated to nurturing a lifelong love of nature, adventure, and learning in every camper. Our mission is to provide a safe, inclusive, and inspiring environment where children can explore the outdoors, develop essential life skills, and build confidence through hands-on experiences. Through innovative programming, passionate staff, and a strong commitment to personal growth, we strive to empower each camper to discover their potential, embrace new challenges, and create unforgettable memories under the summer sky.
Who can attend: Rising 1st graders through 10 years of age.
Cost: $200 per week
Non-refundable Deposit: $50 per week (due at time of reservation)

Discover the wild and wonderful spirit of West Virginia through this immersive camp experience. From exhilarating outdoor adventures to meaningful cultural connections, the Wild & Wonderful West Virginia Camp promises memories that will last a lifetime.
Week Six
Community Roots
July 13th-17th
This camp is ideal for children who have a curiosity about history, enjoy hands-on activities, and want to make new friends while exploring their community’s roots. No prior history knowledge is required—just an open mind and enthusiasm for learning! Join us this summer for a journey into the heart of Shepherdstown’s past—where history comes alive and campers build memories that last a lifetime!

Sustainable Living
June 15th-June 18th

Farm & Homesteading week offer an opportunity to experience rural life firsthand, learning essential skills for self-sufficiency and sustainable living. This camp is designed for campers that are seeking hands-on education in farming, gardening, animal care, and traditional homesteading crafts. This camp provides a supportive environment to explore new skills and connect with nature.

Exploring the Wonders of Natures Helpers
June 22nd-26th
Pollinators Week is a unique opportunity to foster environmental stewardship in children while having fun outdoors. By participating in this camp, campers will gain a deeper appreciation for pollinators and be empowered to make a difference in their local ecosystem.

Appalachian & Folk Art
Mud Week
June 29th-July 2nd

Join us for Appalachian Art and Mud Week. This camp is a week-long adventure where campers dive into the world of visual arts, crafts, and expression. The camp aims to foster self-expression, collaboration, and a deep appreciation for Appalachian culture.
Week Five
Trailblazers & Explorers
July 6th-10th
One of the most exciting aspects of environmental education camps is exposure to “wild jobs”—exciting and sometimes unconventional careers focused on the environment. From wildlife biologists and park rangers to renewable energy engineers and environmental educators. Campers learn about a wide range of career options through guest speakers, developing new solutions, and hands-on workshops.

Mysteries of Nature
July 20th-24th
Join us this week for an unforgettable adventure where curiosity meets discovery! The Weather and Natural Forces Summer Camp promises an inspiring journey into the heart of nature’s most exciting mysteries.
Week Eight
Wildlife of the Panhandle
July 27th-July 31st
The Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia is a region rich with natural beauty, diverse habitats, and abundant wildlife. This week is dedicated to exploring the wildlife of this area. It provides unique opportunities for children to learn about local wildlife, develop outdoor skills, and foster a lifelong appreciation for nature.
Week Nine
Rivers, Creeks & Critters
August 3rd-7th
This week focuses on three main elements: rivers, creeks, and the "critters"—the various animals and insects found in these environments. Each day features outdoor activities, educational workshops, and interactive learning sessions that foster curiosity, teamwork, and respect for nature.
Week Ten
Skill Fusion
August 10-14
Surviving in nature isn't just about skills and tools; it’s about attitude. Stay calm in unexpected situations, be resourceful, and respect nature and fellow campers. Practice Leave No Trace principles to preserve the environment for future generations.
We will wrap up the summer with our tradition of Family Fishing Day on Friday, August 14th
Frequently asked questions
How many weeks can my child attend?
As many as you like. Camp is first come first serve with limited numbers of spaces available.
Do I provide lunch and snacks?
Yes, you do. It must contain ice packs, a protein, carb and fruit or vegetable. NO CANDY
What should my child wear?
Comfortable shoes and weather appropriate clothing. They will be outside in all-weather except extreme storms.
What will my child need to bring?
Water bottle, sunscreen, bug spray, change of clothing and a backpack that they can put everything in.
Can my child bring toys, electronics, a phone or anything extra from home?
No, they may not!
Can my child attend if they haven’t completed kindergarten?
No, they may not.
*Before signing your child up for camp please know that we are an outdoor emersion camp, where risky play is encouraged. The children will hike on gravel and dirt trails, up and down hills, and various natural steps. *
